Kalimas
The significance of Kalimas in Islam is that they serve as a means for Muslims to express their faith, seek forgiveness, and affirm their commitment to Islam. They provide a framework for Muslims to understand and articulate the basic beliefs of Islam, and serve as a reminder of the oneness of Allah and the importance of following the teachings of Prophet Muhammad. Reciting Kalimas is also considered to be a way of earning rewards and blessings from Allah, and it is recommended to recite them regularly as part of one's daily worship.
"Islaam mein kalimah parhne ka maqsad musalmanon ke liye unki eman ki byaani karnay, maghfirat talab karne, aur Islaam ke haq mein tazeem karnay ka zariya hai. Yeh musalmanon ko Islaam ki bunyadi aqaa'id ko samajhnay aur byaan karne ke liye ek dhancha faraham karte hain, aur Allah ki wahdaniyat aur Paighambar Muhammad (S.A.W) ki taleematein ki paharwi ki ahmiyat ki yaad dilatay hain. Kalimah parhnay se Allah ki barkaton aur ajr o sawab kamaney ka bhi zariya samjha jata hai, aur usay apni rozana ki ibadat ka hissa banana bhi mustahsan hai."
First Kalima Tayyab (The Word Of Purity)
Tayyab ke mane "Paak"
لآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَّسُوْلُ اللّٰهِ
Laa ilaaha illal Lahoo Mohammadur Rasool Ullah
(Allah ke siwa koi ma'abood nahi aur (Hazrat) Muhammad (S.A) Allah ke Rasool hain)
(There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah)
Second Kalima Shahaadat (The Word Of Testimony)
Shahaadat ke mane "Gawahi Dena"
اَشْهَدُ اَنْ لَّآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ ، وَ اَشْهَدُ اَنَّ مُحَمَّدً اعَبْدُهُ وَرَسُوْلُهُ
Ash-hadu an-La illaha ill Allahu, Wa ash-Hadu anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa Rasoolu
(Gawahi deta/deti hun main ke Allah Ta'ala ke siwa koi ibadat ke layak nahi aur main gawahi deta/deti hun ke Hazrat Muhammad (S.A) Allah Ta'ala ke bande aur uske Rasool hain)
(I bear witness that no-one is worthy of worship but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger)
Third Kalima Tamjeed (The Word Of Glorification)
Tamjeed ke mane "Buzurgi Bayan Karna"
سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ وَ لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَ اللّٰهُ اَكْبَرُ ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ اِلَّا بِاللّٰهِ الْعَلِىِّ الْعَظِيْمِ
Subhan Allahi, wal Hamdu lillahi, wa la illaha illAllahu, wallahu Akbar. Wa La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah-hil 'alii-il-'adheem
(Allah Ta'ala ki zaat har aib se paak hai aur tamam tareefein Allah Ta'ala ke liye hain aur Allah Ta'ala ke siwa koi ibadat ke layak nahi aur Allah Ta'ala sab se bada hai, aur nahi hai gunahon se bachne aur neki karne ki taqat magar Allah ki taufeeq se jo uncha azmat wala hai)
(Glory be to Allah and Praise to Allah, and there is no God But Allah, and Allah is the Greatest. And there is no Might or Power except with Allah)
Fourth Kalima Tauheed (The Word Of Unity)
Tauheed means "Oneness"
لَا الٰهَ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهٗ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْىٖ وَ يُمِيْتُ ط بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ ط وَهُوَ عَلىْ كُلِّ شَئ ٍ قَدِيْرٌ ط
La ilaha illAllahu Wahdahu La Shareeka lahu, lahulmulku, wa lahulhamdu, yuhyee wa yumeetu, beyadihi alkhayr, wa huwa 'ala kulli Shay'in Qadeer
(Allah Ta'ala ke siwa koi ibadat ke layak nahi, woh akela hai, us ka koi shareek nahi, usi ke liye badeshahat hai aur usi ke liye tamam tareefain hai, wahi zindah karta hai aur wahi maut deta hai, us ke hathon mein tamam bhalaee hai aur Allah har cheez par qadir hai)
(There is) none worthy of worship except Allah. He is only One. (There is) no partners for Him. For Him (is) the Kingdom. And for Him (is) the Praise. He gives life and acuses death. In His hand (is) the goodness and He (is) on everything powerful)
Fifth Kalima Astaghfar (The Word Of Penitence)
Astaghfar ke mane "Maafi Talab Karna"
أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ الَّذِيْ لَا إلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ ، وَأَتُوبُ إلَيْهِ
Astaghfirullah hal-lazi la ilaha illa huwal hayyul qayyumu, wa atubu ilaihi
(Main Allah Ta'ala se maafi talab karta/karti hun jis ke siwa koi ibadat ke layak nahi, woh zinda aur woh qaem hai aur main usi ki taraf taubah karta/karti hun)
(I seek forgiveness from Allah, whom there is none worthy of worship except Him, the living, the eternal and I repent unto Him)
Sixth Kalima Radde Kufr (The Words Of Rejecting Disbelief)
Radde Kufr ke mane "Kufr Ko Rad Karna"
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْٓ اَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ اَنْ اُشْرِكَ بِكَ شَيْئًا وَّاَنَآ اَعْلَمُ بِهٖ وَ اَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِمَا لَآ اَعْلَمُ بِهٖ تُبْتُ عَنْهُ وَ تَبَرَّأْتُ مِنَ الْكُفْرِ وَ الشِّرْكِ وَ الْكِذْبِ وَ الْغِيْبَةِ وَ الْبِدْعَةِ وَ النَّمِيْمَةِ وَ الْفَوَاحِشِ وَ الْبُهْتَانِ وَ الْمَعَاصِىْ كُلِّهَا وَ اَسْلَمْتُ وَ اَقُوْلُ لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَّسُوْلُ اللهِ
Allahumma innii a'udhu bika min an ushrika bika shai-anw- wa ana a'lamu bihii. Wa astagh fi ru ka limaa laa a'lamu bihee. Tubtu anhu wa tabarra-tu min al-kufri wash-shirki wal-kizdhbi wal-ghiibati wal-bid’ati wan-namiimati wal fawaahishi wal-buhtani w-al-ma’aasii kulliha. Wa aslamtu wa aquulu La illaha illAllahu Muhammadur RasulAllah
(Ay Allah beshak main teri pnah mangta hun isse ke main jante huve kisi chizko tera sharik bnavu aur bakhsis mangta hu tujse uski jisko main nahi janta aur maine usse tauba ki aur main bezar huva kufr se aur shirk se aur zuth se aur gibat se aur bid’atse aur chugliyo se aur behayaiyo se aur bohtanse aur tmaam gunahon se aur islam laya main aur iman laya main aur main kehta hun ke allahke sivaa koi ma’bood nahi Muhammad sallalaahu alayhi wasllam allah ke rasool he)
(O Allah! Certainly I seek protection with You from, that I associate partner with You anything and I know it. And I seek forgiveness from You for that I do not know it. I repended from it and I made myself free from disbelief and polytheism and the falsehood and the back-biting and the innovation and the tell-tales and the bad deeds and the blame and the disobedience, all of them. And I submit and I say (there is) none worthy of worship except Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.)
Seventh Kalima Iman-E-Mujmal
اٰمَنْتُ بِاللّٰهِ كَمَا هُوَ بِاَسْمَآئِهٖ وَصِفَاتِهٖ وَقَبِلْتُ جَمِيْعَ اَحْكَامِهٖ
Aamantu billahi kama huwa bi-asma-ihi wa sifatihi wa qabiltu jamia ah-kamihi
(Iman laya/layi main Allah Ta'ala par jaise ke woh apne namo aur apni seefat ke sath hai aur qubul kiya main ne us ke tamam ehkam ko)
(I believe in Allah (as he is) with all His names and Attributes and I accept all His commands)
Eight Kalima Iman-E-Mufassal
اٰمَنْتُ بِاللّٰهِ وَمَلٰئِكَتِهٖ وَكُتُبِهٖ وَرَسُوْلِهٖ وَالْيَوْمِ الْاَخِرِ وَالْقَدْرِ خَيْرِهٖ وَشَرِّهٖ مِنَ اللّٰهِ تَعَالٰى وَالْبَعْثِ بَعْدَ الْمَوْتِ
Aamantu billahi ma malaikatihi wa kutubihi wa Rasulihi wal yaumil aakhiri wal qadri khairi-hi washar-rihi minal-lahi Ta'ala walbasi badal maut
(Iman laya/layi main Allah Ta'ala par aur us ke farishton par aur us ki kitabon par aur us ke Rasoolon par aur aakherat ke din par aur is baat par ke achchi aur buri taqdeer Allah Ta'ala hi ki taraf se hoti hai aur maut ke baad dobara uthaye jane par )
(I believe in Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Last Day, and that good and bad fate are from Allah the Most High, and the Resurrection after death is true)
